The Sony NEX -7 is an APN amazing for its size, not to mention the quality of the photos it captures, but if you think there is always room for improvement, the guys from Sony Alpha Rumors were a pipe from an anonymous source saying that the successor to the NEX-7 is called the NEX-7m. The exact specifications of the supposed NEX-7m are not known at the moment, but assuming that the source is correct, the improvements include an increase in shutter speed, ISO range and improved NR just to name a few them. As always, take this with caution.
Although Sony entered the market later on DSLR, they caught this lost time with their range of APNs without mirror before Canon and Nikon. The NEX-7 is currently the high end of the range Sony mirrorless APNs. There are probably at the price of DSLR NEX-7, but if you want something compact that could fit in your pocket, then the NEX-7 is definitely a camera to consider.
