We've heard a few rumours that netbook manufacturers have been testing Android on their systems, but MSI looks to be the first to have one ready to show off. According to the Chinese Economic Daily News, MSI will be taking demonstration systems to Computex in the hope of tempting worldwide distributors into selling such netbooks.
According to EDN, the Taiwanese Institute for Information Industry has been assisting the development of the Android netbook, but MSI was unwilling to comment. Details are, therefore limited.
It seems same to assume, though, that an MSI Wind of some description will be running the Google OS. What, if any, tweaks have been made to the version of Android running on phones such as the T-Mobile G1, will be interesting to see.
With HP, Dell and Asus all reported to be working on Android netbooks as well, it looks like there's room for some innovation - and decent competition - in the market place yet!
